The project brings together a set of songs that lean into her background in jazz and piano, while keeping the writing personal and direct. Tracks like “Just Wait A Minute,” “Wish I Were Better,” and “Gentleman Blue” sit alongside new songs “Fool’s Gold” and the title track, building a record that feels reflective without overcomplicating itself.

Biro has described the EP as a way of looking back at earlier versions of herself, with each song tied to a specific moment or shift. Much of the material was written while moving between different places, which shows up in how the record moves between styles while still feeling cohesive.

Her approach stays rooted in live instrumentation, often centered around piano or a small group, giving the songs space to breathe. That simplicity keeps the focus on her voice and the way she delivers each line, rather than layering things too heavily.

Since releasing her first single last year, she’s already started to build an audience, with millions of streams and early recognition from both media and industry spaces. She’s also been active onstage, including sold-out shows in the UK.

She’ll continue that momentum with a run of live dates this spring and summer, including appearances at Cheltenham Jazz Festival, The Great Escape Festival, and Montréal Jazz Festival, along with performances at venues like Royal Albert Hall.

With Running From Nothing, Biro is introducing her sound in a way that feels fully formed from the start, focusing on clarity, restraint, and the kind of songwriting that holds attention without needing to push for it.
