Brandi Carlile and Friends Cascaded the Hollywood Bowl with Musical Light
As the daylight faded into evening over the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Saturday October 14, 2023, Brandi Carlile opened “Brandi Carlile and Friends” to a sold out crowd, by setting an intention for peace. What followed as a cascading stream of rainbow light hit the stage, was a safety net of love, joy, infectious fun, beauty, community and intentional peace fulfilled.
Every friend and musician who joined Brandi on the Bowl stage brought their raw talent and vulnerability in their art as a balm for 17,000 weary hearts. Music came to life with the talents of Catherine Carlile, Lucius, Allison Russell, Blake Mills, Wendy & Lisa, SistaStrings, and the incomparable Annie Lennox. Featuring a surprise three-song Joni Mitchell encore with the incandescent Joni Mitchell herself. By the unforgettable evening’s end there was a tangible magic in the air that could’ve only been created in the City of Angels.
