Hayley and the Crushers Release “Jewel Case” After Years as a Live Staple

H

ayley and the Crushers have released their new single “Jewel Case,” along with a video that captures the chaos and energy they’ve built their live shows around.

The track has been part of their set for years, usually closing things out, but this is the first time it’s been given a full studio release. It’s a song that’s lived in their shows long enough to become something of a signature, and now it finally has a recorded version that matches that intensity.

Frontwoman Hayley Crusher Cain has described “Jewel Case” as a reflection on the moments where people push too far and know it. The kind of night where something crosses a line, whether it’s intentional or not, and you’re left sitting with what that means. It’s not framed as regret as much as recognition.

That same feeling carries into the video. Instead of leaning into anything polished, it stays close to what the band actually is onstage. Loud, messy, and fully committed. The visual drops you into that end-of-set energy where everything feels a little out of control in the best way.

“Jewel Case” also marks the start of what’s next for the band, with a new album on the way later this year through Kitten Robot Records. It builds on the direction they’ve been moving toward, blending surf, punk, and power pop while keeping that sharp edge in both sound and perspective.

The release comes as the band continues their Spring 2026 tour, including dates supporting Screeching Weasel and The Queers, along with a handful of headline shows. Their live sets have always been central to what they do, and this run leans into that even more, pulling from across their catalog and giving “Jewel Case” its moment as something more than just a fan favorite.

The current lineup includes Hayley Crusher Cain, Reid Cain, Ryan Deliso, and Stacy Binelli, with the band continuing to push forward while still holding onto the parts that made people pay attention in the first place.

With “Jewel Case” finally out in the world, it feels less like a throwback and more like a reset. Something that’s been there from the beginning, now fully realized.
