Ms. Rachel Speaks Out for Children in Gaza

achel Griffin-Accurso, known to millions of families as Ms. Rachel from Songs for Littles, has built her career on helping children learn through music. Recently, she has used that same platform to advocate for children caught in crises, most notably in Gaza.

In public comments this summer, Ms. Rachel made it clear that her role as an educator extends beyond screen time. “I wouldn’t be Ms. Rachel if I didn’t deeply care about all kids,” she said, noting that she is willing to risk her career to stand up for them. Her message resonated widely online, striking a chord with parents who admire her willingness to put principle above popularity.

Her advocacy has also been backed by action. In May 2024 she organized a fundraiser through Cameo, offering personalized video messages to raise money for Save the Children’s emergency fund. The effort brought in more than $50,000 for children in Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Videos she posted on social media highlighted these causes, including a moving moment where she sang with Rahaf, a three-year-old amputee from Gaza who had been evacuated for treatment.

The visibility of these posts drew both praise and criticism. Some parents applauded her courage, while others accused her of overstepping. Ms. Rachel responded by doubling down on her message of compassion, stating that her care for children does not stop at any border.

For many, this stance has only deepened her impact. Ms. Rachel is not only teaching songs and lessons to toddlers but also modeling what it looks like to act with conviction. Her decision to speak out shows how even children’s educators can use their platforms to remind the world that every child’s life has equal value.
