Say She She Announce New Album Cut & Rewind With Single “Disco Life” and European Tour Dates
ay She She have unveiled “Disco Life,” the third single from their forthcoming album Cut & Rewind (out October 3 via drink sum wtr). Glittering with grooves and harmonies, the song revisits the infamous 1979 Disco Demolition Night—an anti-disco riot that exposed racism, misogyny, and homophobia—and reframes the dance floor as a space of freedom and community.
The track follows “Under the Sun,” their dreamy pro-labor anthem inspired by the 2023 Hollywood writers’ strike. Elsewhere on Cut & Rewind, songs like “She Who Dares” imagine dystopian futures while calling for resistance. Across its 12 tracks, the trio—Piya Malik, Sabrina Mileo Cunningham, and Nya Gazelle Brown—draw from influences like Minnie Riperton, Rotary Connection, and ESG, while expanding their sound with whistle tones, funk grooves, and three-part harmonies.
