The three-song project came out of a short stretch of time spent writing and recording together in the Welsh countryside. Instead of something overly polished or overworked, it feels like a direct result of that environment, three artists in the same space, figuring things out in real time and letting the songs take shape from that.
The EP includes “Anymore,” “Lie To Me,” and “Hear Me Out,” each one built around a quieter, more stripped-back sound. “Anymore” leads with a simple acoustic arrangement and keeps the focus on the push and pull in the lyrics, while “Lie To Me” leans into that same tension in a more subdued way. “Hear Me Out” opens things up slightly, bringing in more movement without losing that closeness.
Banks described the project as a rare chance to work closely with artists she’s looked up to, with the songs coming out of a few days of writing, living, and creating in the same place. Novo Amor and Lowswimmer echoed that, pointing to how naturally the collaboration came together.
The EP also circles back to an earlier connection. Banks has covered Novo Amor’s work in the past, and this project brings that influence full circle into something shared rather than one-sided.
Outside of music, Banks has already built a strong presence through her acting work, including leading roles in My Fault: London and A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. At the same time, she’s been steadily building her music career, with her debut EP and recent touring helping to establish her as an artist in her own right.
Everything Is About You feels like a continuation of that, but also a shift into something more collaborative and more focused on shared sound rather than just her own.
